Cockney Night at the George Public House, Isle of Dogs
On Thursday 19th October the POETS' descended on the historic George Public House on the Isle of Dogs for a traditional Cockney knees-up. The pub, dating from 1864 has a strong connection with the docks and the local community.

The fare on offer had a distinctly London flavour - pie n' mash, bangers n' mash and fish & chips.

No Cockney occasion would be complete without a bit of East End royalty in attendance. We were truly honoured to be joined by Terry and Lorraine Sadler, the Pearly King & Queen of Tower Hamlets for the night's festivities.

There was a London themed quiz sponsored by Andy Wilson and Bespoke Brick. There were some taxing questions that even had the Pearlies scratching their heads.

It was a truly wonderful night made even better by the fact that £750 was raised for the POETS' charities.
The Original Pearly Kings & Queens are an integral part of London's rich history. They do an amazing amount of work for a number of charities. For more information on The Pearlies please visit their website - www.thepearlies.co.uk
