DO YOU WANT TO BE POET?

If you are a member of the construction industry you can become a POET. Whether you are a Purchasing Officer, Engineer or in Technical Sales you are more than welcome to come and find out what we are all about.

We are always looking for new members, people that share our enthusiasm for developing the society and furthering its aims and objectives.

The usual way of joining the POETS is by firstly coming along to one of our events - a lunch or maybe a golf day. There is no pressure to become a member. In fact you can come along to as many events as you wish as a guest. If and when you feel comfortable with the idea a formal offer of membership is the next step.

There are no mysterious initiation rituals and no joining or subscription fees. The only financial obligation is to cover the cost of any meals that you attend. You might also want to voluntarily provide a prize for the raffles that are held at all POETS' lunches.

If you are interested in getting involved and want to help in raising lots of money for charity why not get in touch. you can drop us a line on this website, or contact the POETS through their social media pages. Or. if you know one, have a chat with your friendly POET. You will be able to spot them easily by their distinctive lapel badge.

BEING A POET GIVES YOU REAL SENSE OF ACHIEVEMENT

Dear Andy

I’m writing to say a massive thank you on behalf of everyone at Haven House Children’s Hospice for your amazing donation of £5470.00

When Chris emailed to say you would like to make a donation, I had no idea it would be such a fantastic sum! Haven House has enjoyed a long relationship with The POETS Luncheon Society and I can’t tell you how much it means to us to have your continued support at such a challenging time.

Haven House remains on the frontline in providing care for some of the most vulnerable children in our local community. We are determined to play our part and support the NHS at this critical moment in history, and are doing so through offering both beds and expertise, working closely every day with our NHS colleagues to ensure children at end of life and in non-emergency situations can be swiftly transferred out of hospital to free up those hospital beds.

The emergency funds promised by the government will be essential in keeping us going in the short term and enabling us to continue providing a lifeline and specialist care to our children and families. Government funding is very welcome, but it does not mean we can become complacent in our appeal for funds. The future still remains uncertain and who knows what the charity landscape will look like post Covid-19.

We really need the support of our local community now more than ever, and I would be very grateful if you could please express our extreme gratitude to all your members for this fantastic contribution.

Thank you so much Andy – this means such a lot to everyone at Haven House.

Very best wishes
