The annual POETS Charity Golf Day took place on 25 June 2026 at Crews Hill Golf Course, Enfield – one of the top golf courses in Middlesex.

POETS members and invited guests enjoyed a fantastic day of golf despite temperatures reaching a scorching 35°C, as southern England experienced a record-breaking heatwave.

POETS Chairman Chris Gardner thanked all the members and guests who took part and battled the extreme conditions to raise money for this year's nominated charities: North London Hospice, Haven House Children's Hospice, and Prostate Cancer UK. He also expressed his appreciation to Gary Strahan, POETS Golf Secretary, for organising another successful event.

The day began with a hearty Full English breakfast before players headed out for 18 holes with a shotgun start. Competitions included Nearest the Pin, Longest Drive, as well as individual and team prizes. Following the golf, everyone enjoyed a delicious two-course lunch before gathering for the prize presentation and charity raffle.

POETS Treasurer Andy Bigg thanked the 19 players and 3 non players for their generosity and support. Thanks to the donations received on the day, the event raised £1900.00 for our nominated charities, a fantastic effort.
