POETS Golf Day

POETS News - 19th Jun 2025

Crews Hill Golf Club, again was the chosen venue for this popular event. Founded in 1920 and now ranked one of the top 10 courses in Middlesex. Crews Hill Golf Club is an established Members' Club that offers a warm welcome to visitors. Our oak, tree-lined course provides a real challenge for every level of golf.

Despite the wet weather conditions, it didn’t dampen the spirit of the teams who had taken the time to support the POET'S great charities whilst enjoying some friendly competition and banter.

The POETS have now consolidated all of our efforts into one single event, yet we are now raising more money than ever before. The Ken Elner and Peter Swain Memorial Trophies are still contested, in recognition of a couple of our sadly departed former members.

Last year's September Golf Classic attracted 60 players and raised £1,500 for the chosen charities. The POETS team was hoping to surpass this achievement. Andy Bigg the POETS treasurer confirmed that this year’s event raised a massive £2,650. Gary Strahan the POETS Golf Secretary would like to thank sponsors and the players for their support and also a big thank you for the fantastic hospitality from the Crews Hill Golf Club team.

We look forward to seeing you at the next POETS Charity Golf Day
