The event kicked off the POETS fundraising for 2025. Members and guests started the evening with pre-drinks at the popular Merchant Sports Bar on Brentwood’s High Street, before heading to The Eastern Oriental.

The POETS Society's regular charities are North London Hospice and Haven House Children’s Hospice. At our recent AGM it was decided that a draw would take place at the Chinese night to reveal who would be the POETS third charity for the year. The members put their preferred charities into a hat, and chairman Chris Gardner pulled out The Alzheimer’s Society, the UK’s leading dementia charity.

A fantastic night of great food and drink was enjoyed by all, and over £570.00 was raised throughout the evening, an excellent start to our 2025 fundraising.  

The POETS team are planning to rebrand and put a new website together, which is one of the many exciting things the Society have planned this year.  The team are also looking for new members; our principal aims are to provide networking opportunities, to encourage and develop business relationships and most important of all, to fundraise for our chosen charities.
